The Brief & Obstacles
The Problem:
Jackie and Allen’s garden felt incredibly small and claustrophobic because it was entirely suffocated by wall-to-wall utility paving. The cheap, old slabs had originally been laid straight onto sand, meaning they were wobbly, uneven, and creating a visual nightmare. More importantly, the failing sub-base beneath the wall-to-wall stone was causing serious drainage issues and waterlogging risks for the property.

The Precision Build

The Solution:
We ripped out the heavy, failing hardscaping to bring life and structural integrity back to the space. Because the clients wanted a new lawn, we fully excavated the old, waterlogged sand base to ensure the new turf would have perfect drainage and never flood. We then designed a sweeping, curved Indian Sandstone patio to visually open up the space, integrating circular planting patches that flow naturally with the shape of the garden. In just two weeks, we turned a suffocating concrete box into a breathable, beautifully balanced outdoor space.

"Redesigned the whole garden"
"Chris showed us 3D concepts so we could see how it would look before work started. The new layout makes the garden feel much bigger and it's easier to maintain. We now spend much more time outside."

"It's like having an extra room"
"Chris helped us plan the design and mocked up visuals to help us picture it. It's completely transformed our garden - it feels like we've added an extra room to the house."
