// PROJECT DETAILS
// THE BRIEF
All paving and no life.
Jackie and Allen's garden felt small and closed in, because it was covered wall to wall in utility paving. The old slabs had been laid straight onto sand, so they were wobbly and uneven. More importantly, the failing sub-base beneath them was causing drainage problems and a real risk of waterlogging.

// THE GARDEN VS. THE CONCEPT
Same angle. Same crop.
// THE SOULTUON
What we changed.
We took out the failing hardscaping and brought structure and drainage back to the space. As the clients wanted a new lawn, we fully excavated the old, waterlogged sand base so the new turf would drain properly and not flood. We then laid a sweeping, curved Indian sandstone patio to open the space up, with circular planting areas that follow the shape of the garden. In around two weeks, a closed-in concrete box became a balanced, usable garden.

// WHAT CLIENTS SAY
MT Developments are amazing. They redesigned our whole back garden and it's made a huge difference. Chris listened to what we wanted and showed us 3D drawings so we could see how it would look before the work started. The new layout makes the garden feel much bigger and easier to maintain. The team worked hard, kept the place tidy and were always very polite. We now spend so much more time outside, just in time for the next heatwave. 100% recommend.
