A drop with nothing holding it up
Doreen’s terrace sat nearly a metre above the lawn, with no retaining wall and steps only 30cm wide.
What we did
Rebuilt it in load-bearing brickwork, with wide, safe steps. See the job.
Four finished Luton jobs so far, each with its own problem to solve. Designed and built by us, from just up the road in Dunstable.
Four finished jobs in LU3 and LU5. Real gardens, real photos, all designed and built by us.

Luton
A sloping, overgrown garden turned into a sandstone patio, steps and a new lawn, with every load carried through the house.
// What we find
Four jobs, four different problems. If your garden has one of these, we’ve already solved it nearby.

A garden another firm walked off
Cathy’s garden was dug out and abandoned, leaving a steep drop right outside her back door.
What we did
Made it safe first, then built a porcelain patio, a sleeper wall and a new lawn. See the job.
No way in but the front door
Rose and Jill’s garden is only 4.5 m wide, sloping, with no side access.
What we did
Took about 35 tonnes in and out through the house, with nothing broken. See the job.
A tired patio by the house
Sharon’s slabs had gone dark and stained, with weeds through every joint.
What we did
Relaid it with new sleeper edging and a step up to the lawn, in five days. See the job.
“Had my patio brought back to life. I’m so pleased with the work Chris and Co have done. Work completed in 5 days. I can now sit outside for breakfast, lunch and dinner.”
Yes. We’re based in Dunstable and work within about 20 miles, which takes in all of Luton. Our finished Luton jobs so far are in LU3 and LU5.
Yes. Retaining walls and steps turn a slope into space you can use. In Luton we’ve built them in brickwork and in timber sleepers, depending on the drop and the look.
Usually it can still be done. We look at the access on the first visit and plan the job around it. On Rose and Jill’s garden everything went through the house, with the floors and doorways protected from day one.
We look at what’s there first, then tell you plainly what it needs. Cathy’s garden had been dug out and abandoned; we made it safe, then built it properly.
Yes. The price on your proposal is the price you pay. It only changes if you change the design, or if we uncover something nobody could have seen beforehand, like a buried structure. Either way, nothing changes until you’ve agreed it in writing.
